- 10mm socket/ratchet
- Phillips screwdriver
- Flathead screwdriver
- Door Panel Clip Tool (or putty knife)
- Tape (painter's tape recommended)
Step 1: Open the vehicle's door.
Step 2: Pry and lift the power window control plate. Disconnect the wiring harnesses (3) from the UNDERSIDE of the control plate.
Step 3: Pry and remove the arm rest surrounding the interior door pull.
Step 4: Loosen and remove the Phillips screw (1) inside the interior door handle.
Step 5: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) located near the interior door pull.
Step 6: Disengage and remove the retaining pin located near the door latch. Also, remove the retaining pin located near the door hinge.
Depress the center of the pin, allowing for it to be removed.
Step 7: Pry and remove the interior door handle's bezel. Disengage the locking rod (1) from the back of the interior door handle.
Step 8: Using the door panel clip tool (or putty knife), pry and remove the interior door panel.
A series of retaining pins holds the door panel to the frame. When you reach one, simply pry outward to disengage it, releasing the door panel.
Step 9: You can now remove the interior door panel.
Step 10: GENTLY peel back the water shield. Be careful not to tear it, as we'll need to reattach it later!
Step 11: Disconnect the window motor's wiring harness (1). Pry and release the wiring bundle from the clips that secure it to the door frame.
Step 12: Loosen and remove the 10mm bolts (6) that secure the regulator/motor assembly to the inside of the interior door frame.
Step 13: Position the window so you can easily access the 10mm bolts (2) that secure the window pane to the regulator rail. Loosen and remove these bolts (2). CAREFULLY lift the window pane to the TOP of the window frame, and secure it using the painter's tape.
Step 14: You can now slide and remove the window regulator/motor assembly from the vehicle.
Step 15: Mount the NEW window regulator assembly to the door frame by tightening the 10mm bolts (6).
Step 16: CAREFULLY lower the window pane onto the regulator rail. Secure it to the rail by tightening the 10mm bolts (2).
Step 17: Connect the motor's wiring harness (1), and snap the wiring bundle into the door frame using its retaining clips.
Step 18: Reattach the water shield.
Step 19: To reattach the door panel, simply reverse the removal process. However, be sure to pull any retaining pins that stayed with the door frame out, and reattach them to the door panel.
Be sure to tighten the Phillips screws, re-engage the locking rod, and reconnect all wiring harnesses!
