- Flathead screwdriver
- Phillips screwdriver
- Putty knife
Step 1: Open the vehicle's door.
Step 2: Pry and remove the interior door handle's bezel.
Step 3: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) just beneath the interior door pull.
Step 4: Pry and remove the switch just below the side mirror mount. Disconnect the wiring harness attached to the back of the switch.
Step 5: Using the putty knife, gently pry and remove the interior door panel.
The panel is held in place by a series of retaining clips. Work your way around the door panel, pulling and disengaging the clips.
Step 6: You can now lift and remove the interior door panel. Disengage the locking tabs that hold the window control panel in place. Once you remove it from the door panel, you can fully remove the panel.
Step 7: Gently peel the water shield back. DO NOT tear it!
Step 8: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) that hold the interior door handle assembly in place.
Step 9: Slide the assembly TOWARD the hinge side of the door and pull it from the door frame.
Step 10: Disengage the locking rod (1) from the assembly.
To disengage it, simply lift and remove the assembly.
Step 11: Slide the handle assembly into place and re-engage the locking rod.
It will "snap" into place.
Step 12: Secure the interior door handle assembly by tightening the Phillips screws (2).
Step 13: Reattach the interior door panel.
Simply reverse the removal process. Be sure to reattach the window control panel, any wiring harnesses, and the bezels we removed.
