How do you Change, Replace, or Install Broken 1999-2004 Ford Mustang Front Door Panel (Interior) Replacement

Fits years: 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004

All Ford Mustang for sale Tools required:

  • Flathead screwdriver

  • Phillips screwdriver

  • 8mm wrench


Step 1: Using the 8mm wrench, disconnect the battery's negative cable.

Step 2: Pry and remove the retaining pin (1) near the door hinge (on the interior door panel).

Step 3: Pry and remove the power window control switch-plate. Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) on the UNDERSIDE of the switch-plate. You can now pull the switch from the trim panel.

Step 4: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) exposed by removing the switch-plate trim panel.

Step 5: Pry and remove the interior door handle's bezel.


NOTE: Pry from the BOTTOM of the trim panel.

Step 6: Pry and remove the trim panel covering the side mirror's mounting area.

Step 7: You can now lift and remove the interior door panel.

Step 8: To reattach the interior door panel, simply reverse the removal process. Be sure to use the alignment tabs at the bottom of the panel to ensure proper placement.


Be sure to reattach all trim panels, tighten the Phillips screws (2), and reattach the pin near the door hinge.
