Tools required:

  • 10mm socket/ratchet with extension

  • 8mm wrench

  • Phillips screwdriver

  • Flathead screwdriver (small)

  • Door Panel Clip Tool (or putty knife)

Step 1: Disconnect the negative battery cable using the 8mm wrench.

Step 2: Open the vehicle's door.

Step 3: Pry and remove the small panel inside the interior door pull. This will expose (2) Phillips screws.

Step 4: Loosen and remove the (2) Phillips screws.

Step 5: Pry and remove the small trim panel that covers the side mirror's mounting area. Disconnect the speaker harness, if necessary.

Step 6: Pry and remove the small light/reflector near the bottom of the door, exposing a Phillips screw (1). Loosen and remove this screw.

Step 7: Using the door panel clip tool (or putty knife), work your way around the interior door panel, prying it away from the door frame.

There are small clips that hold the panel to the door frame. You will have to pull and disengage these clips.

Step 8: Lift and remove the interior door panel.

Step 9: Disconnect the wiring harnesses attached to the back of the interior door frame.

Step 10: Loosen and remove the 10mm mounting bolt (1) and slide it toward the door hinge. You can now remove the interior door handle.

Step 11: Disengage the two locking rods.

Step 12: Engage the rods to the new interior door handle, and secure its position by tightening the 10mm mounting bolt (1).

Step 13: Reattach the interior door panel.

Simply reverse the removal process. Be sure to secure all retaining clips, reattach all wiring harnesses, and reattach all trim panels.
