How do you Change, Replace, or Install Broken 2002-2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer Serpentine Belt Replacement

Fits years: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006

All Chevrolet Trailblazer for sale Tools required:

  • 3/8 Drive ratchet handle

Step 1: Open the vehicle's hood.

Step 2: Locate the belt routing diagram that is usually posted near the radiator, on the UNDERSIDE of the hood, or in the owner's manual.

Step 3: Using the 3/8 drive ratchet handle, insert the square peg into the belt tensioner and turn it CLOCKWISE. This will release the tension on the belt. Once you have the belt off of a pulley or two, slowly release the tensioner back to its resting position.

Step 4: Using the diagram we found in Step 2, route the belt around the proper pulleys.

Step 5: Once the belt is in place, use the 3/8 drive ratchet handle to turn the tensioner COUNTER CLOCKWISE. This will increase the tension on the belt.

NOTE: The belt should be taut, but not overly tight or stretched!
