- 8mm socket/ratchet
- Flathead screwdriver
- Phillips screwdriver
Step 1: Open the vehicle's door.
Step 2: Depress the center of the retaining clip (1) just below the mirror's mounting area, and remove the pin from the door panel.
Step 3: Pry and remove the small trim panel inside the interior door handle. Remove the Phillips screws (2).
Step 4: Pry and remove the window control switch-panel. Disconnect the wiring harnesses from the underside of the panel.
Step 5: Pry and remove the small trim panel that covers the mirror's mounting area.
Step 6: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) that are below the door panel armrest.
Step 7: Pry and remove the interior door handle's outer bezel. Disconnect the wiring harness (1). Disengage the tab to release the door handle.
Step 8: Pry and remove the interior door panel.
There is a series of clips that hold the door panel to the door frame. You will hear them "pop" as they release.
Step 9: Disconnect the wiring harnesses (3) from the back of the interior door panel.
Step 10: Peel back the water shield. BE CAREFUL not to tear it!
You only need to peel the water shield back enough to expose the mirror's wiring harness.
Step 11: Disconnect the side mirror's wiring harness. Disengage the clip that attaches the wiring bundle to the door frame.
Step 12: Loosen and remove the 8mm mounting bolts (3) that secure the mirror to the door.
Be sure to hold onto the mirror while removing these bolts, as you don't want to sweep broken glass from your garage floor or driveway!
Step 13: You can now remove the side mirror.
Step 14: Feed the wiring harness through the opening in the door frame, and mount the mirror by tightening the 8mm bolts (3).
Step 15: Connect the side mirror's wiring harness and engage the clip to hold the wiring bundle to the door frame.
Step 16: Reattach the water shield.
Step 17: Reattach the interior door panel.
Simply reverse the removal process. Be sure to reconnect all wiring harnesses, tighten the Phillips retaining screws (4), re-engage the clip beneath the mirror (1), and reattach the bezels and trim panels!
