How do you Change, Replace, or Install Broken 2003-2012 Volvo XC90 Upper Rear Reflector Replacement

Tools required:

  • 10mm socket/ratchet

Step 1: Open the vehicle's rear door.

Step 2: Lift the trunk's floorboard cover. Detach the under-panel from the vehicle and remove it.

Step 3: Remove the access panel from the side in which you're replacing the reflector.

Step 4: Loosen and remove the 10mm bolts (2) exposed by removing the side trim panel.

These bolts are elongated, so they will look more like an Allen Wrench than a bolt!

Step 5: You can now pull and remove the tail light assembly from the vehicle.

Step 6: Loosen and remove the 10mm bolts (2) on the upper and lower ends of the rear reflector.

Step 7: You can now pull the rear reflector from the vehicle.

Step 8: Mount the new rear reflector by tightening the 10mm mounting bolts (2).

Step 9: Reattach the tail light assembly by tightening the 10mm bolts (2) INSIDE the trunk area.

Step 10: Reattach the trim panel and floor-board panels.
