Tools required:

  • 8mm socket/ratchet with extension

  • 10mm socket/ratchet with extension

  • Flathead screwdriver

Step 1: Open the vehicle's hood.

Step 2: Loosen and remove the 10mm mounting bolts (2) that secure the air box to the vehicle.

Step 3: Loosen and remove the 8mm clamps (2 per hose) that secure the intake hoses to the vehicle. Slide the hoses from their position.

Step 4: Disconnect the vacuum lines (2) from the intake box. You can now remove the intake box from the vehicle.

Step 5: After removing the shorter hose, the ignition coils are exposed.

NOTE: We recommend replacing ALL ignition coils together, as they often fail within a few weeks of each other. Be sure to replace them ONE AT A TIME, though, while performing the installation.

Step 6: Pry and remove the clip attached to the ignition coil.

Simply depress the center of the clip using a flathead screwdriver.

Step 7: Disconnect the ignition coil's wiring harness (1).

Step 8: Loosen and remove the 10mm mounting bolt (1) that secures the ignition coil to the engine.

Step 9: You can now lift and remove the ignition coil.

Step 10: Mount the new ignition coil by tightening the 10mm bolt (1).

Step 11: Connect the wiring harness (1) to the ignition coil.

Step 12: Reattach the small clip to the ignition coil.

Step 13: Repeat this process for the remaining ignition coils.

Step 14: Reattach the small hose, air intake box, and larger intake hose by tightening the clamps (2 per hose) to secure them.

Step 15: Tighten the mounting bolts (2) that secure the air box to the vehicle.
