How do you Change, Replace, or Install Broken Volkswagen Passat 1.8T Ignition Coil Replacement

Fits years: 0

All Volkswagen Passat for sale Tools required:

  • Flathead screwdriver (large)

Step 1: Open the vehicle's hood.

Step 2: Disengage the retaining pins (3) that secure the engine cover to the engine.

By turning the head of the retaining pin a quarter of a turn, you can release the pin.

Step 3: Disconnect the ignition coil's wiring harness (1).

Step 4: Pry and pull the coil from the engine.

Step 5: Push the new ignition coil into place, and connect the coil's wiring harness (1).

Step 6: Repeat this process for the remaining ignition coils.

Step 7: Reattach the engine cover by re-engaging the flathead retaining pins (3).
