NOTE: During this installation, we'll be removing the vehicle's interior door handle. The steps outlined below are spot on for vehicles in the later year range listed above. However, for earlier vehicles within this range, the door panel removal process may differ slightly.
Step 2: Pry and remove the trim panel near the side mirror mount.
Step 3: Pry and remove the interior door handle's bezel.
Step 4: Pry and lift the power window control panel. Disconnect the wiring harnesses (2) from the UNDERSIDE of the panel. Loosen and remove the Phillips screw (1).
Step 5: Pry and remove the screw covers (2) near the HINGE side of the door panel. Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2).
Step 6: Pry and remove the screw cover (1) on the arm rest. Loosen and remove the Phillips screw (1).
Step 7: Disengage the retaining pin (1) near the LATCH side of the panel.
To release this pin, depress the CENTER of the pin and pull outward.
Step 8: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (4) that line the BOTTOM edge of the interior door panel.
Step 9: You can now LIFT and remove the interior door panel. Disconnect the wiring harness (1) from the back of the panel.
Step 10: GENTLY peel back the water shield. Be careful not to tear it, as we'll need to reattach it later!
Step 11: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (3) and 10mm bolt (1) that secure the protective panel near the LATCH side of the door panel. Remove this panel.
Step 12: Disconnect the window motor's wiring harness (1). Detach the harness plug from the door frame by releasing the retaining clips.
Step 13: Raise the window until you can easily access the 10mm bolts (2) that secure the window pane to the regulator rail. Loosen and remove these bolts (2). Lift the window pane to the TOP of the window frame, and secure it using the painter's tape.
NOTE: If your regulator still has some functionality, you can reconnect the window switch and raise/lower the window as necessary. However, if the window regulator is completely useless, you should be able to raise/lower the window using just your hands.
Step 14: Loosen and remove the 10mm bolts (5) that secure the regulator/motor assembly to the door frame. Release the retaining clip that secures the cable, and you can now pull the entire assembly from the door frame.
Step 15: Mount the new assembly to the door frame by tightening the 10mm bolts (5). Re-engage the retaining clips that secure the wiring harness and regulator cable to their respective positions.
Step 16: Connect the motor's wiring harness (1).
Step 17: CAREFULLY lower the window pane onto the regulator rail. Secure it to the regulator by tightening the 10mm bolts (2).
Step 18: Reattach the water shield.
Step 19: To reattach the interior door panel, connect the wiring harness (1) and slide the panel into position on the door frame.
NOTE: Be sure that the panel is OVER the lip on the door frame, and that all harnesses have been fed through the openings in the panel.
Step 20: Tighten the Phillips screws (8).
The largest screws go in the control panel and arm rest holes.
Step 21: Connect the wiring harnesses (2), and reattach the window control panel.
Step 22: Reattach the trim panels at the side mirror mount and interior door handle.
Step 23: Reattach the screw covers (3).
Step 24: Re-engage the retaining pin (1) near the LATCH.
