Step 1: Open the vehicle's hood. Using the 8mm wrench, disconnect the battery's negative cable.
Step 2: Locate the belt routing diagram usually located near the radiator, on the UNDERSIDE of the hood, or in the owner's manual.
Step 3: Using the 3/8 drive ratchet handle, insert the square peg into the opening on the belt tensioner. Turn the tensioner CLOCKWISE to release the tension on the serpentine belt. Once you have removed the belt, SLOWLY release the tensioner back to its resting position.
Step 4: Loosen and remove the 10mm bolt (1) that secures the lead to the TOP of the alternator. Remove this lead.
Step 5: Loosen and remove the 10mm bolts (4) that secure the alternator to the vehicle.
Two are located on TOP, while two are located on the FRONT.
Step 6: Disconnect the alternator's wiring harness (1).
Step 7: You can now pull the alternator from the vehicle.
Step 8: Connect the NEW alternator's wiring harness (1).
Step 9: Mount the alternator by tightening the 10mm bolts (4).
Step 10: Tighten the 10mm bolt (1) to secure the wiring lead to the TOP of the alternator. Cover the connection with the rubber boot.
Step 11: Using the diagram we located in Step 2, route the serpentine belt around the proper pulleys. Once the belt is in place, use the 3/8 drive ratchet handle to turn to tensioner COUNTER CLOCKWISE, securing the belt's position.
NOTE: The belt should be taut, but not overly tight or stretched!
Step 12: Connect the battery's negative cable.
