Step 2: Using the 12mm wrench, disconnect the battery's negative terminal.
Step 3: Turn the 15mm tensioner bolt (1) CLOCKWISE to release the tension on the serpentine belt. You can now remove the belt. SLOWLY release the tensioner back to its resting position.
Step 4: Loosen and remove the 10mm bolt (1) on the BACK of the alternator. Remove the wiring lead.
Step 5: Loosen and remove the 7mm bolts (2) on the BACK of the alternator. Remove the wiring lead.
Step 6: Loosen and remove th3 10mm bolt (1) on TOP of the alternator. Remove the wiring lead.
Step 7: Loosen and remove the 14mm mounting bolts (2) located on the TOP and BOTTOM of the alternator.
NOTE: The LOWER bolt has a nut on the backside of the alternator, so you will need to hold it in place with a wrench while loosening the bolt.
Step 8: You can now slide and remove the alternator from the vehicle.
Step 9: Move the new alternator into position, and tighten the 14mm mounting bolts (2).
Step 10: Connect the wiring leads (3) to the back of the alternator and tighten the 10mm bolts (2) and 7mm bolt (1).
Step 11: Route the serpentine belt using the diagram provided near the radiator, on the UNDERSIDE of the hood, or in the owner's manual. Once the belt is in place, turn the 15mm tensioner bolt (1) COUNTER CLOCKWISE to secure it.
The belt should be taut, but not overly tight or stretched.
Step 12: Reconnect the negative battery cable.
