Step 9: GENTLY peel and lift the water shield. Be careful not to tear it, as we'll need to reattach it later.
If your model has the mounting bracket near the top of the door panel, we shouldn't need to remove it for this installation. Just pull the water shield up enough to expose the interior of the door frame.
Step 10: Disengage the retaining clip near the BOTTOM of the locking rod, separating the rod from the assembly.
Step 11: Using the hammer/punch, lift the exterior door handle and punch out the center of the mounting rivets (2).
Step 12: Using the drill with a 3/8 bit, carefully drill the center of the rivets (2). Use a flathead screwdriver to pry and remove the remaining pieces of the rivets.
Step 13: You can now pull the exterior door handle from the OUTSIDE of the door. Disengage the locking rod from the back of the handle assembly.
Step 14: Your exterior door handle should now be completely free from the vehicle.
Step 15: Mount the NEW exterior door handle by re-engaging the latch rod to the back of the assembly, and slide it into place on the door.
Step 16: Using the short bolts/nuts (2), mount the new door handle to the door frame.
Step 17: Re-engage the long locking rod (inside the door frame), and secure it with the retaining clip (1).
Step 18: Reattach the water shield.

Step 20: Tighten the Phillips screws (5).
Step 21: Reattach the interior door handle's bezel.
Step 22: Reattach the screw covers (2) to the interior door pull.
