How do you Change, Replace, or Install Broken 1999-2004 Oldsmobile Alero Engine Air Filter Replacement

Fits Years: 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004

Tools required:

  • Phillips screwdriver

Step 1: Open the vehicle's hood.

Step 2: Locate the air box assembly on the DRIVER'S side of the vehicle.

Step 3: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (4) that secure the air box cover to the assembly.

You DO NOT fully remove the screws from the assembly. They simply disengage from the box, and lift with the cover.

Step 4: You can now lift the air box cover and remove the air filter (1).

NOTE: We recommend cleaning out the air box compartment, as there is likely plenty of dirt, grime, and debris inside the assembly. This means that the air filter has been doing its job!

Step 5: Insert the new air filter (1) into the air box.

Be sure that the air filter is properly placed. There shouldn't be much "play" with installed correctly.

Step 6: Tighten the Phillips screws (4) to secure the air box cover to the assembly.
