Step 2: Loosen and remove the 10mm bolt (1) just below the reservoir compartment hoses on the PASSENGER'S side of the vehicle. You DO NOT need to drain and disconnect the reservoir hoses. Instead, just disengage the retaining clips and slide it out of the way.
Step 3: You can lift the power steering reservoir and slide it out of the way.
Step 4: Loosen and remove the 10mm bolts (2) that hold the belt cover to the UNDERSIDE of the vehicle.
NOTE: We recommend jacking the vehicle up, and using stands to secure it. You MAY be able to facilitate this repair without doing this, but in truth, it's much easier with the extra room!
Step 5: Loosen the 15mm belt tensioner bolt (1) by turning it COUNTER CLOCKWISE. This releases the tension on the belt, allowing for its removal. SLOWLY release the tensioner back to its resting position.
Step 6: Using the routing diagram posted near the radiator, on the UNDERSIDE of the hood, or in the owner's manual, route the NEW belt around the proper pulleys.
Step 7: Once the belt is in place, turn the 15mm tensioner bolt (1) CLOCKWISE to secure its position.
NOTE: The belt should be taut, but not overly tight or stretched!
Step 8: Tighten the 10mm bolts (2) to secure the belt cover to the UNDERSIDE of the vehicle.
Step 9: Reattach the power steering reservoir and coolant overflow tank.
