Step 2: Pry and remove the screw covers (2) located inside the door pull and interior door handle.
Step 3: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) located behind these screw covers.
Step 4: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) located along the bottom edge of the interior door panel.
Step 5: Using the door panel clip tool (or putty knife), pry and separate the interior door panel from the door frame.
A series of retaining pins holds the panel to the door frame. As you slide your tool between the panel and door frame, you'll feel a pin "“ when you do, pry outward.
Step 6: Disconnect the wiring harness (1) from the back of the interior door panel.
Step 7: Disengage the retaining clip (1) that secures the locking rod to the back of the interior door handle.
Step 8: Transfer any retaining pins that may have stayed with the door frame back to the interior door panel.
Step 9: GENTLY peel back the water shield. Be careful not to tear it, as we'll reattach it later!
Step 10: Pry and remove the screw cover/plug.
Step 11: Loosen and remove the 8mm bolts (2) that secure the exterior door handle to the door frame.
Step 12: You can now lift and remove the door handle through the OUTSIDE of the door. Disengage the retaining clip (1) that secures the locking rod to the back of the handle.
Step 13: Attach the locking rod to the NEW door handle and move the assembly into position.
Step 14: Tighten the 8mm bolts (2) to secure the handle to the door frame.
Step 15: Reattach the rubber plug/screw cover and water shield.
Step 16: To reattach the door panel, reconnect the wiring harness (1), re-engage the locking rod (1), and slide the panel into position. With a FIRM strike near each retaining pin, you can re-engage them, securing the panel to the door.
Step 17: Tighten the Phillips screws (4) to finalize the installation.
