Step 2: Pry and remove the interior door handle's bezel. Disconnect the wiring harness (1).
Step 3: Pry and remove the locking lever near the TOP of the interior door panel.
Step 4: Pry and remove the trim panel inside the interior door pull. Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2).
Step 5: Pry and separate the interior door panel from the door frame.
A series of retaining clips secures the panel to the door frame. As you work your way around the outer edge of the panel, you will hear them "pop"¬Ě free.
Step 6: You can now LIFT and remove the interior door panel.
Step 7: Using the pliers, squeeze the retaining tabs that secure the electrical box to the door frame. You can now slide and remove this box. Disconnect the wiring harness (1).
Step 8: Loosen and remove the 10mm bolt (1) that secures the interior door handle to the door frame. Slide it FORWARD, and disengage it from the locking rod.
Step 9: GENTLY peel back the water shield. Be careful not to tear it, as we'll need to reattach it later!
Step 10: Position the window pane so you can easily access the 10mm bolts (2) that secure the pane to the regulator rail. CAREFULLY slide the window pane to the TOP of the window frame, and secure it using the painter's tape.
NOTE: If your regulator still has some functionality, you can reconnect the window switch, and raise/lower the window as needed. If your regulator is completely useless, you should be able to move the window with your hands.
Step 11: Disconnect the window motor's wiring harness (1).
Step 12: Loosen and remove the 10mm bolts (5) that secure the regulator/motor assembly to the door frame.
Two of the bolts only need to be loosened, as they can remain IN the regulator, but SLIDE from the mounting hole.
Step 13: You can now slide and remove the regulator/motor assembly.
Step 14: Transfer the (2) bolts to the NEW assembly, and use them to "hang"¬Ě the NEW regulator inside the door frame. Secure the assembly by tightening the 10mm bolts (5).
NOTE: If you need to transfer the motor, you'll need to use a T30 Torx bit/ratchet or driver.
Step 15: CAREFULLY lower the window pane onto the regulator rail. Secure it to the regulator by tightening the 10mm bolts (2).
Step 20: To reattach the interior door panel, use the large retaining clips as your guides, and move the panel into position on the frame. Once in position, use a FIRM, but not too firm, strike near each retaining clip to "snap"¬Ě them back into place.
Step 21: Tighten the Phillips screws (2). Reattach the trim panel.
Step 22: Reattach the locking lever.
Step 23: Connect the wiring harness (1) to the back of the interior door handle's bezel. Snap the bezel back into place.
