Chevrolet Cavalier Radiator
General Motors began production on the Chevrolet Cavalier for the 1982 model year. By leveraging the “J Platform”, the American automaker was able to create an affordable, compact sedan that offered a great “entry level vehicle” to consumers. From the moment it was released, the Cavalier enjoyed some impressive sales figures, as three different designs (coupe/sedan, hatchback, and wagon) gave the model great marketing versatility. The Cavalier's timing was important, as GMs “Citation” model was beginning to become an issue on the company's bottom line.
