Fits years: 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006

All Chevrolet Silverado for sale Tools required:

  • 7mm socket/driver

  • 10mm socket/driver

  • Flathead screwdriver

  • Needle-Nose Pliers

  • Torx Driver (small)

  • Tape (Painter's tape recommended)

NOTE: In this installation, we'll be removing the interior door panel. Depending on the year of your vehicle, this process may differ slightly from the steps we outline here. However, despite these minor differences, the process should be very similar.

Step 1: Open the vehicle's door.

Step 2: Pry and remove the small trim panel that covers the side mirror's mounting area.

Step 3: Pry and lift the window control switch-plate. Disconnect the wiring harnesses (3) attached to the underside of the panel.

Step 4: Pry and remove the locking button from the door panel.

Step 5: Pry and remove the interior door handle's bezel.

Step 6: Loosen and remove the 7mm bolts (2) located beneath the window control plate and interior door pull.

Step 7: You can now lift and remove the interior door panel.

Step 8: Disconnect the seat heater component and speaker harness from the back of the interior door panel. Also, remove the bulb for the door panel's light.

Step 9: Loosen and remove the 7mm bolt (1) on the BACK of the interior door panel. Pry and remove the power window control plate.

Step 10: Using the flathead screwdriver, disengage the locking rod from the interior door handle.

Step 11: Loosen and remove the interior door handle's mounting bolt (1). Slide the assembly toward the HINGE side of the door to release it from the door frame.

Step 12: GENTLY peel back the water shield. Be careful not to tear it, as we'll need to reattach it later!

Step 13: Connect the window control plate to the regulator's wiring harness and raise the window (if it isn't already in the UP position).

NOTE: While we understand that the regulator likely isn't functioning properly (hence our installation), do your best to get the window in a closed position.

Step 14: Secure the window in the UP position using the painter's tape. Tape the pane to the UPPER portion of the window frame. Separate the window pane from the track clamps.

Step 15: Loosen and remove the 10mm mounting bolts (6) that secure the window regulator to the door frame.

Step 16: Lower the window regulator track, if you can, and disconnect the regulator's wiring harness (1). You can now pull the regulator assembly from the door frame.

Step 17: Insert the new window regulator into the door frame. Secure it by tightening the 10mm mounting bolts (6). Connect the assembly's wiring harness (1).

Step 18: Either raise the regulator track to the window pane or SLOWLY lower the pane onto the track. Secure the pane to the regulator using the clamps.

Step 19: Reattach the water shield and interior door handle. Re-engage the locking rod to the door handle.

Step 20: To reattach the interior door panel, reattach the panel light bulb, seat heater, and speaker harness.

Step 21: Slide the door panel onto the door frame. Tighten the 7mm bolts (2) to secure it.

Step 22: Reconnect the wiring harnesses (3) to the window control switch-plate, and "snap" it back into place.

Step 23: Reattach the locking button.

Step 24: Reattach the small trim panel near the side mirror mount.
