How do you Change, Replace, or Install Broken 2004-2007 Chrysler Town and Country Front Power Window Regulator Replacement

Fits years: 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007

All Chrysler Town & Country Window Regulators & Motors for sale Tools required:

  • 12mm wrench

  • T30 Torx bit/ratchet with extension

  • Phillips screwdriver

  • Flathead screwdriver (2, small and medium)

  • Tape (Painter's tape recommended)

  • Door Panel Clip Tool (or putty knife)

Step 1: Using the 12mm wrench, disconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.

Step 2: Pry and lift the power window control plate. Disconnect the wiring harness (1).

Step 3: Loosen and remove the Phillips screw (1) inside the interior door handle.

Step 4: Loosen and remove the Phillips screw (1) inside the interior door pull.

Step 5: Using the door panel clip tool (or putty knife), pry and remove the door panel from the door frame.

A series of retaining clips secures the door panel to the frame. You will hear them "pop" as they disengage.

Step 6: LIFT the door panel to remove it. Disengage the retaining clip (1) that secures the locking rod to the back of the panel. Also, disconnect the wiring harness (1).

Step 7: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (4) that secure the speaker to the door. Disconnect the speaker's wiring harness (1) and remove the component from the door.

Step 8: GENTLY peel back the water shield. Be careful not to tear it, as we'll need to reattach it later!

Step 9: Using the flathead screwdrivers, pry and remove the retaining clips (3) that secure the window motor to the door frame.

These plastic rivet-like clips are frustrating! Pry the clip from the door frame, and use the other screwdriver, to pry the "teeth" on the back of the rivets free.

Step 10: Disconnect the motor's wiring harness (1).

Step 11: If your regulator is bad, you can use your hands to position the window pane until you can access the T30 Torx screws (2) that secure the window pane to the regulator rail. Loosen and remove these screws.

NOTE: If your regulator still has SOME function, you will need to reconnect the window switch to raise/lower the window until you can reach these screws.

Step 12: Lift the window pane from the regulator rail, and secure it to the TOP of the window frame using the painter's tape.

Step 13: Loosen and remove the TOP mounting bolts (2) for the regulator. You only need to loosen the BOTTOM bolts (2) " you DO NOT need to remove the bottom bolts.

Step 14: You can now slide and remove the regulator from the door frame.

Step 15: Mount the new window regulator assembly by sliding the assembly onto the LOWER bolts (2) and tightening ALL 4 mounting bolts. Also, depending on your model, re-engage the motor's plastic rivets (or replace with bolts, your call).

Step 16: Connect the motor's wiring harness (1).

Step 17: CAREFULLY lower the window pane onto the regulator rail. Secure the window pane to the NEW regulator by tightening the T30 bolts (2).

Step 18: Reattach the water shield. Connect the speaker's wiring harness (1) and tighten the Phillips mounting screws (4).

Step 19: To reattach the panel, insert the locking rod and secure it by re-engaging the retaining clip (1). Connect the wiring harness (1), as well. You can now slide the door panel over the "lip" by the window.

Step 20: With a firm strike near the retaining pins, you can "snap" them back into place.

Step 21: Tighten the Phillips screws (2).

Step 22: Connect the wiring harness to the power window control plate (1), and snap it back into place.
