This is a used headlight capsule.
This is the left, driver side front fog lamp. Fitment is very specific and depends on the options your vehicle is equipped with. For BMW X5 (2011-2013), this part requires the M-Aerodynamic package. For BMW X1 (2012-2015), this part requires the M-Sport Line package. All compatible vehicles must be equipped with Adaptive Headlamps.
